June 2019 Newsletter
Hello Golden Angels!
JUNE SOCIAL: The June SPN Golden Angels Social will be held on Friday, June 14th at 5:30 pm in the St. Augustine Room. Father Fuller will be our very special guest and will speak to us after dinner, since June will be his last full month as our pastor.
We will have a card for everyone to sign, so please come a few minutes early. The dinner this month will be a salad supper. Members please bring your favorite salad, side dish, or dessert. Sign up sheet is in the Narthex.
JULY SOCIAL: Next month’s social on Friday, July 12th will be our annual 4th of July “cookout”, featuring grilled hamburgers and hot dog with all the fixin’s to make a terrific indoor picnic. The theme of this social is “Bring a Friend”. We invite all members to bring a friend, especially parishioners who haven’t joined Golden Angels yet.
FIELD TRIP: Our Perkins adventure, scheduled for Thursday, May 30th was postponed until this fall when we will also be able to tour the Wild Eagle Sanctuary. Watch for details in late summer.
COOKIE SUNDAY: Cookie Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of the month, so this month it will be June 16th. If you can help or donate cookies, please contact Vinola Smith 802 9799.
PARISH NEWS: SPN’s 1st Annual Italian Festival was held on St. Philip Neri’s Feast Day, Sunday, May 26th. Open to the public, over 900 Parishioners, Catholics from other parishes, and the general public attended. The festival offered bounce houses, face painting. and sailboat rides for the kids, complementary wine tasting for the grown-ups, grape stomping exhibitions, Vendors, and tons of delicious Italian food (Like spaghetti, pizza, and cannoli’s!). Entertaining the festival goers were “Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra”. (Well, that’s who they said they were, and they did know all their songs, and sounded a lot like them, so ???). Even the weather was wonderful! All in all, a real success! Looking forward to next year!
BOARD MEETING: The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday June 17th at 1:30 in the Lamb Room. All are welcome.
Blessed Stanley Rother, pray for us!
